MANILA, Philippines – Filipino-American singer apl.de.ap of international hit band “Black Eyed Peas” is looking forward to working with another international singing sensation.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, the 36-year-old performer confessed that he would love to collaborate with Charice, who has the same rags-to-riches story.

"I'd like to work with Charice," he said.

Charice is currently in the United States to fulfill her commitments there, including shooting the popular television series “Glee” where she plays Filipino exchange student Sunshine Corazon.

Born Allan Pineda Lindo Jr., apl.de.ap, meanwhile, is spending Christmas in the Philippines.

"I like to be with my family for Christmas. It's just Christmas is different in the Philippines. It's just so festive and I like [participating in] Simbang Gabi, bumibili ng puto bumbong, kutsinta, bibingka, that's my favorite," the proud Kapampangan said.

Aside from spending time with his family, he is taking advantage of the Yuletide season to share his blessings with the less privileged.

"We have a tradition that every year we make packages, food canned goods for the aborigines, 'yong mga Aetas sa Sapang Bato. That's why I like coming home for Christmas," he added.

Wherever he goes, the Fil-Am artist is always professing how proud he is of his race.

"You can't really go forward if you don't know where you came from. I'm proud of my culture. I think Filipinos are hard-working, nice people, a lot of love and the family will stick together. And I think God gave me the motivation and the drive to make it to the music business and you know I'm just proud to be Pinoy,” he said.
